If you want to get out today – do it now as this afternoon and evening is going to be awful

Met Éireann has just issued the latest in a string of Status Yellow weather alert for Cork – warning of heavy downpours and thunderstorms through this afternoon and evening.
The Status Yellow Thunderstorm warning was issued at 9.30am this morning for counties in the midlands, Munster and Connacht.
The weather service says: “Scattered thunderstorms through this afternoon and evening, bringing some heavy downpours with the risk of hail and spot flooding’.
The warning comes into effect from 11am this morning and stays in place until 9pm tonight – when the rain should start to ease off.
And while tomorrow should be better – we are looking at yet another week of very unsettled weather with lots of showers, some of them heavy.
There is some good news – temperatures should climb into the mid-teens from Tuesday on – which means that while we’ll hardly have beach weather – all of this rain and warm temperatures are pretty much perfect for your garden, especially if you have been planting in the past few days.
However, we will back into very wet conditions by the end of the week – with Friday forecast to bring very heavy showers and the further risk of thunder.
Met Eireann says for tomorrow for Munster: “Dry and sunny in many areas to begin Monday with a few light showers near western coasts.
“Showers will develop elsewhere in Munster during the late morning, however they will not be as heavy or frequent as recent days.
“Showers will be well scattered with plenty of sunny spells also, particularly later in the day with much of Munster dry for the late afternoon and evening.
“A slightly cooler day with highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with a moderate westerly breeze.”
