PETALING JAYA: A Covid-19 vaccination badge will be issued to those who have received their second vaccine dose, says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
The Health Minister said that this is in addition to the digital certificate they can download on the MySejahtera app.
This badge will indicate those who have completed their second vaccination dose, he said, adding that the name and MyKad number of the vaccinated individual will also be printed on the badge.
In a press conference at the Health Ministry headquarters on Wednesday (March 17), he said the badge cannot be forged as there are security codes on it.
Adham added that as of March 16, there were 346,508 individuals who have received their first vaccine dose, or 69.3% of the targeted 500,000 individuals in the first phase.
There are also 5,742,572 people who have registered as vaccine recipients through MySejahtera, which is 23.7% out of 24.3 million Malaysian residents aged 18 and above.
Out of those who registered on MySejahtera, 12.6% are aged 60 and above while 19.6% have comorbidities.
As a whole, 25.9% of those who registered will be given the vaccine under phase two, he said.
Those registering their interest for the vaccine will be able to do so via the website www.vaksincovid.gov.my, hotline 1-800-888-828 and at government clinics and hospitals.
