Tottenham still have a stronger attack than Manchester United, even after Jadon Sanchos big money move to Old Trafford.
Thats according to former Spurs man Jamie OHara, who made the bold claim when he joined talkSPORT to rank the Premier Leagues best strike forces.
United have spent £73m to sign Borussia Dortmund star Sancho, having been quoted £100m last summer
After months of speculation, United thrilled their supporters on Friday by announcing the arrival of England winger Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
It ended a long pursuit of the 21-year-old, who was rated at £108million by the German club last summer but has joined the Red Devils in a reduced deal worth around £73m.
It adds another prong to Uniteds deadly attack, with Sancho set to line up alongside Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford in Ole Gunnar Solskjaers first choice front-three.
Jadon Sancho is finally a Manchester United player, with the England winger bringing a huge new attacking presence to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attack
However, OHara insists his old club Spurs – who recently tied Heung-min Son down to a new long-term contract – have a better attacking line-up.
In fact, he says Tottenhams front-three is one of the strongest in the English top flight, despite the departure of Gareth Bale following the end of his loan from Real Madrid.
Well, that’s if Man City-linked Harry Kane is convinced to stay at White Hart Lane this summer…
Ranking the Premier Leagues top strike forces, OHara said on Drivetime: Liverpool have the best front-three in the Premier League – Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Thats better than Man Uniteds, for me. Not based on last season, just based on talent and what they can produce when theyre at their best.
Salah and Firmino have formed an incredible front three with Mane at Liverpool
Id also argue Man City, if they line up with Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne as a false-nine, thats probably better than Manchester Uniteds, too.
City do need to sign a new striker, but KDB is brilliant when he plays there. If its a choice between Gabriel Jesus and Cavani, youd have to say Cavani, but if youre talking Foden or Rashford, youd say Foden.
In my opinion, I think Spurs front-three at their best is still better than that Manchester United front-three.
Kane and Son are one of the most prolific strike pairings in the Premier League
That caused a slightly stunned reaction from talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein, who asked: So what, Son, Kane and Moura is better than Rashford, Cavani and Sancho?
But OHara was undeterred.
Yeah, said the former Spurs man.
Son is better than Rashford, Kane is better than Cavani, and OK Moura is not better than Sancho
Sancho and Rashford are now teammates at club level, as well as for England
But Moura had a great finish to last season and does produce at the top level.
The Premier League table last season obviously paints a different picture – even with Bale Tottenham still only managed to finish seventh, while United were runners-up to champions Man City.
Only time can tell whether the former Spurs star is right this term, or whether Sancho can help the Red Devils go one better…
