The report by the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes will be published in January, Minister for Children Roderic O’Gorman has announced.

The report by the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes will be published in January.
The announcement was made in the Dáil by Minister for Children Roderic O’Gorman.
Mr O’Gorman confirmed that he will bring a memorandum to Government on 11 January to publish the report immediately.
He said he spoke to former residents and survivors and got their views and concerns about the publication of the report.
Mr O’Gorman said they will be first to be notified about the publication and how to access it and work is at an advanced stage.
He said publishing it close to Christmas would not have been appropriate, which is why it will be published in the second week in January.
He also noted counselling services will be in place for survivors and former residents at the time of publication.
The final report was delivered to the Minister on 30 October.
The Attorney General’s Office was provided with extra resources to ensure the report could be reviewed as quickly as possible.
