England captain Joe Root has notched up another double century to lead his side to a resounding 454-4 at tea on day two of the opening test against India.
Root, playing in his 100th test, dominated the opening sessions as the Indian bowlers looked bereft of ideas on an unhelpful pitch.
However, India nabbed their man just after the tea break, with Shahbaz Nadeem catching him in front LBW for 218 and leaving the visitors on 477-6.
Continuing his fine form, Root came into the four-test series against India off a double hundred and a big century in his previous two tests in Sri Lanka.

Not even an episode of cramp had looked like slowing Root, who was helped by Indian captain Virat Kohli in a spirited sportsmanship moment that was lapped up by cricket fans on the opening day.
England resumed the second day on 263-3 and have lost the wickets of Root, Ben Stokes (82) and Ollie Pope (34).
