A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries when he was attacked in North Dublin last night.

A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries when he was attacked in North Dublin last night. 
The victim, aged in his 60s, was discovered unconscious in Fairview Strand, Dublin 3, by emergency services and rushed to the Mater Hospital.
A male in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is being quizzed at Clontarf Garda Station.
Gardai confirmed they were investigating an incident of assault which occurred at Fairview Strand, Dublin 3, late yesterday evening.
At approximately 11.10pm gardaí received report that a man had been assaulted a by a number of individuals on Fairview Strand and attended the scene, they said.
A male aged in his 60s was discovered in an unconscious state and was taken from the scene by emergency services to the Mater Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
A male in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
They added: The investigation is ongoing.
