PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,317 new Covid-19 infections on Monday (April 12), a reduction from the previous days 1,739 cases.
This brings the countrys cumulative number of cases to 362,173.
Sarawak recorded the highest increase out of all states with 351 new cases.
Selangor has the second-highest figure with 303 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 116, Penang (112) and Sabah (109).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in his daily Covid-19 updates, reported four new fatalities, pushing Malaysias death toll up to 1,333.
Another 1,052 patients were discharged from treatment, bringing the total number of recoveries to 345,005 or 95.3% of all cases.
Active cases have now gone up to 15,835.
Of that total, 188 are currently under intensive care, with 84 of them requiring ventilator support.
