The number of patients in hospital with Covid-19 is 192, according to the latest official figures.
Last night it was at 189 patients, meaning the number of hospital patients with Covid-19 has fallen below 200 for the first time since mid-December.
Twenty-two hospitals are reporting fewer than ten cases each of the disease.
St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, which was once one of the busiest with Covid-19, now has just four cases.
Also, the number of patients in intensive care with Covid-19 fell below 50 last night, and stands at 47.
This is down from the peak of around 220.

Yesterday, the Department of Health was notified of a further 18 Covid-related deaths and 358 new cases of the disease.
It brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Ireland to 4,803. The total confirmed case number is 241,684.
Latest figures show that there were 314,216 people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by last Sunday.
There have been 749,450 first doses administered under the national programme.
It brings the total number of doses given to over 1.06 million.
The overall number of Covid-19 outbreaks reduced last week, according to new figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
It recorded 337 outbreaks, down 46 compared with the previous week.
The biggest individual increases were seen in extended family outbreaks, up 13 to 34 and travel-related outbreaks, up 11 to 16.
An outbreak is two or more linked cases of Covid-19.
The overall number also includes 78 “late notifications” from December, January, and February.
The data is for the week to Saturday 10 April.
