A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on the body of a man, which found in a house in north Cork last night.
The deceased, who was aged in his 60s and lived alone, was discovered by relatives at his home at Bridge Street, Mallow at around 5pm yesterday and gardaà were alerted.
There was no sign of forced entry or a struggle in the flat near the centre of Mallow.
The flat has been cordoned off by gardaà and the man’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is to be carried out, the results of which will determine the course of the garda investigation.
