PETALING JAYA: Two policemen are among four individuals detained in connection with a theft at a convenience store in Kelana Jaya on Sunday (March 14).
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said a woman wearing a police vest entered the shop at about 7am and took five packs of cigarettes, a lighter and sweets.
He said the woman did not pay for the items but told the store worker before leaving that her “superiors” would come by and make payment within an hour.
“She then left in a Honda Civic mobile patrol vehicle,” he said when contacted on Tuesday (March 16).
ACP Nik Ezanee said acting on information, a police team arrested two personnel, aged 31 and 38, at about 5pm the same day.
“Their two other accomplices – a 36-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man – were detained in SEA Park at about 8.30pm.
“The third and fourth suspects have multiple criminal records,” he said.
ACP Nik Ezanee said all four have been remanded for seven days for further investigation.
