AMPANG: The 52-year-old woman who had allegedly hit two motorcycles at Bukit Antarabangsa, has been detained.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the woman was detained at about noon on Tuesday (March 16).
“She has been sent to a nearby hospital to test her blood alcohol level,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.
It was earlier reported that a woman was sought by police in connection with ramming two motorcycles in Bukit Antarabangsa.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
ACP Mohamad Farouk had said the woman was believed to have driven while under the influence of alcohol during the incident at about 12.41am on Monday (March 15).
“Initial investigations revealed that the woman was driving home when she accidentally rammed her car against a Yahama Avantis and Harley Davidson motorcycles parked at the side the road.
“The Yamaha rider was helping the other rider as the latter’s motorcycle had broken down,” he said.
The woman had stopped her vehicle after the accident, he added.
“One of the rider had used his phone to record the woman after she refused to cooperate.
“She then sped off, leaving the scene,” ACP Mohamad Farouk said.
