Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement after the Health department confirmed that three of the 35 individuals who got infected with Delta variant already died.
“His movement has long been limited [due to the pandemic]. It will depend on the location of the activity and its importance,” Roque said.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Monday that a person sick with the Delta variant, first detected in India, can infect as much as eight other people in one sitting.
Roque said it would take extraordinary circumstance for the President to deviate from his routine.
“Pero [sa] ngayon naman po ay consistent naman po ang patterns of movement ng Presidente. Unless mayroong extraordinary affair, nasa Malago po siya o nandito sa siyudad ng Davao,” Roque added.
(His movements have been consistent. Unless there is an extraordinary affair, he is just here in Malago in Malacañang or in his hometown.)
