PUTRAJAYA: With the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme now officially underway, members of the Malaysian public can start registering themselves using the MySejahtera app.
Khairy Jamaluddin (pic), the coordinating minister for the programme, said over 5000,000 people have registered for the programme on the app so far.
As of 4.30pm, 505,565 people have registered for Covid-19 vaccines.
Khairy also said those who had not updated or downloaded the MySejahtera app could do so now and to turn on push notifications.
“Once you have updated the app, the ‘Covid-19 Vaccination’ logo will appear. From them on, just follow the instructions.
“You will be asked to verify information, and will be asked several questions related to your health. Once complete, just press send,” said Khairy at a press conference here.
He was speaking at the Putrajaya district health centre, where Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and four ministry frontliners received their first Covid-19 vaccination shot.
Khairy said that while the public can register for the programme at any time, the dates when they receive their vaccine shots would depend on the different phases that have been set.
Phase one of the programme is for more than 500,000 frontliners, followed by the second phase which is for those with co-morbidities and those aged above 60.
Malaysian residents above the age of 18 will receive their shots in the third phase.
“So do not worry if you have not received an appointment date for your immunisation. It will be scheduled in stages, according to the vaccination phase that has been identified for each individual.
“All the information received from the registration process will help ascertain who gets vaccinated, based on the priority list.
“Under phase three, the priority will also be based on whether the individual resides in a ‘red’, ‘yellow’ or ‘green’ zone,” said Khairy.
Besides the MySejahtera app, Khairy said the public can also register on the government’s Covid-19 special portal at vaksincovid.gov.my or its hotline starting March 5.
He also said for those who would like to register their dependents such as an elderly parent will be able to do so in mid-March.
“An announcement will be made when this function is available. With this, children can register their parents who do not have the MySejahtera app to receive their vaccines,” said Khairy.
With the immunisation programme now under way, Khairy said Selangor will start vaccinating Thursday (Feb 25), followed by Pahang and Sarawak on Feb 26.
Other states will begin rolling out in stages.
Also present at the press conference was Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, who said he has registered to be vaccinated on the MySejahtera app.
When asked when he expect to be vaccinated, Dr Adham answered: “I have registered on MySejahtera, so I will have to wait for it to inform me when.”
Khairy responded: “Same with him!”
