Round 8
Walker, only a few games into his NRL career, took charge of the team after captain and fullback James Tedesco was knocked out of the contest.
The Roosters pinched the young gun out from under Brisbanes noses and signed him to a two-year-deal reportedly worth $300,000 a season. That contract expires this year.
Before he had even made his NRL debut the club was keen to lock him down on a fresh deal, but he decided to wait.
And that decision has paid off, with the contract being extended to five years.
