Government sources are said to be increasingly confident that France will be upgraded off the list after it was added just over a week ago.
The news coincides with the country crossing its 40-million vaccine mark on Monday. But cases of the Delta variant are still rocketingFrance recorded almost 23,000 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, twice as many as the previous week.
Despite this, sources told the Daily Mail that popular holiday destination, Spain, could be the one downgraded.
