Manchester United have agreed a deal in principle to sign Raphael Varane subject to a medical.

Manchester United confirmed the news that all their fans wanted to hear on Tuesday in that they have agreed a deal in principle to sign Raphael Varane.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been looking to bolster his side’s defence ahead of the new campaign and in Varane they will have one of the most successful and talented centre-backs in world football.
In a statement, United said: “Manchester United is delighted to announce the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of French international defender and World Cup winner, Raphaël Varane, subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised.”

United fans are now waiting for the Frenchman to undergo a medical before the £43m signing can be officially announced, so there is still a bit of time before they will be able to see pictures of the defender in United colours.
When that medical will take place will depend on when Varane flies over to Manchester.
The Frenchman had been on a break in northern France in recent weeks after his country’s exit from the European Championship, but returned to Madrid’s training base in recent days.
If Varane flies to Manchester today (Wednesday) he will have to spend five days in quarantine upon his arrival in England, after which he will be able to come out of isolation provided he tests negative for Covid-19.
The medical would then likely take place at the beginning of next week before a formal announcement confirming his arrival.
